Freight Handling
Drayage : (drā′ij) The charge, or sum paid, for the use of a dray.
Dray: (drâ) n. A low, heavy cart without sides, used for haulage.
[Middle English draie, sledge, cart, from Old English dragan, to draw.]
Material Handling or “Drayage” Service is necessary at trade shows and many other events. Whenever a large number of exhibitors gather together with their individual materials, drayage is needed to sort everything out and avoid chaos.
Most convention centers and hotels do not have the equipment or manpower to manage the receiving and storing of all the exhibit freight. You can think of Innovative EXPO drayage service as your personal shipping and receiving clerk, making sure all of your stuff gets to your booth space, quickly and efficiently.
Innovative EXPO provides the following drayage services for exhibitors in all of our events:
- Receiving of exhibit materials, by use of fork lifts and pallet jacks
- Storage of advance shipments for up to 30 days prior to the event
- Labeling, palletizing and transportation of exhibit materials to event site
- Delivering everything to your booth space in time for the event
- Removal of empty cartons, pallets and wrapping materials
- Locked storage for your shipping containers during the event
- Return of containers at end of the event
- "Load Out" for outbound shipping after event has ended, by use of fork lifts and pallet jacks
You have the choice of sending your freight directly to the event site right before the opening, or in advance to our warehouse. Either way, we make sure everything is carefully transferred to your booth. Check your Exhibitor Kit for the shipping deadline dates.
